My DVD Came With Instructions My Kids Did Not Parents and children have it hard today. Kids can't be kids anymore is the nature of the conversation at most adult gatherings these days. Between school, homework, dance lessons, soccer, more homework, religious instruction, chores, softball, tennis and more homework it seems that kids never have the time to just hang out and be kids. Whatever happened to using imagination? I remember growing up we made go-carts, played stickball, baseball, basketball and just hung out and goofed off. We studied, and got good grades but also had time to be a kid. Today it seems that everything has been so sped up that if they aren't being stimulated by XBox, text messaging, computers, or IPODS they don't know what to do with themselves. Parents are so overworked and underpaid that they don't have the time to spend with their kids. How can we possibly expect our children to adopt those needed life and social skills if their lives are hurried along at a space shuttle's pace? So what do we do as parents? Get frustrated, bring our kids to doctors who are more than willing to put our kids on mind-altering medications. We might get a temporary change but what about the long-term effects from the medications? I hear from so many parents nationwide that their kids need - BETTER MOTIVATION
- IMPROVED GRADES
- MORE SELF CONFIDENCE
- BETTER ORGANIZATION
- BETTER STUDY SKILLS
- A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF MONEY AND TO REALIZE THAT MONEY DOES NOT GROW ON TREES
- TO HELP AROUND THE HOUSE
- TO BE HAPPIER
I have been working with children nationwide for 22 years. Through one on one customized life coaching via the telephone your child can learn and master the above mentioned skills. Just like Eddy did. Eddy is a 10 year old boy who was miserable all of the time. His grades were poor, he felt like a social outcast and his parents were heartbroken. His parents brought him to a doctor who told them to put the child on antidepressants. Not really wanting to medicate their son but wanting him to feel and do better, they reluctantly put him on the medication. Within 2 weeks their son's behavior was worse. While he was zombie-like for much of the day he would have violent confrontations with anyone who disagreed with him. His parents called the doctor who said the dosage had to be modified and to be patient. After 8 weeks the child was even worse so the doctor decided to discontinue that medication and move the child to another. The parents asked if their child was considered clinically depressed. The doctor said "No", so the parents refused to put their son on any other medication. The parents heard about me from a friend and decided to call me to see if I could help their son. Eddy and I spoke by telephone and covered and mastered with success the following areas: - Improved self esteem
- improved communication skills with his parents, teachers and older siblings
- Improved organization skills in school and at home
- A willingness to do chores around the house
- A savings plan was set for money earned from chores and birthdays
- Time management to include time to hang out and play, do homework and study
- Improvement from a D student to all B's and one C
- Improved happiness
- An "I can do anything" attitude
- A feeling of pride and accomplishment
