How to Make your Chiropractic Practice Great Again or Even Greater if it is Great Already!

What to Do Under a Trump Presidency

Doing research for this blog was next to impossible because nobody really knows what President-Elect Trump is going to do with health care. What I was able to find is that he feels that doctors over-charge and are over paid. I was not able to find information on his views on alternative health care.

In January 2015, Trump praised Scotland’s single-payer healthcare system (as he did in his book “Crippled America”) and bashed doctors as over charging for their services on the David Letterman Show.

“Just look at your doctor’s bills. I mean you look at the doctor’s bills…you look at what some of these doctors do and the money that they make and you go to other countries and you see what they make and it’s a whole different world.

So what does a physician do at this time? The answer is the same answer when Obama-Care was passed. The answer is to run a BUSINESS and adhere to business principles. There isn’t a person on this planet including you the reader, that would not spend money on something that you considered valuable. It is no different for your practice.

Unfortunately, most physicians are poor business-people. They were never taught business skills in school and it reflects in their daily lives. Why Your Patients May Leave You In January and Your Waiting Room May be Empty

How to Have Another Record Week In Your Business

How to Grow a Business in Uncertain Times

Uncertainty is not the friend of small businesses. As a matter of fact business hates uncertainty; just look at what the stock market or bond market does in uncertain times; they usually tank. This article is being written on October 25, 2016. In thirty years from now when somebody is reading this ancient blog, the same principles that I am going to discuss will be relevent.

Economic principles do not change; only the days and years change. Let’s get to it. At present there is major uncertainty in the United States and the world at large. We have a presidential election that will be decided in two weeks. No matter who wins, Trump or Clinton there will be great uncertainty in the air.

  • Who will be appointed to the supreme court?
  • What will happen with Isis?
  • What about race relations in our country?
  • How much will taxes go up or down?
  • Will they raise the capital gains Tax?
  • Will they tax imports?
  • Will legalized marijuana lead to more traffic fatalities?
  • What about health insurance? As of this writing premiums are anticipated to rise double digits?
  • Inflation anyone?
  • Are you now certain that there is much uncertainty in the world?

What do have people always done and what will people continue to do in times of uncertainty? They hunker down and don’t spend money unless it is absolutely necessary.

So how do you grow a business in uncertain times?

  1. Get more exposure-market “harder and smarter” don’t cut advertising
  2. Get organized-you cannot afford not to get a full sixty minutes out of every hour
  3. Create written goals complete with meaningful action steps

Being an entrepreneur sounds great when discussed around the dinner table or with friends but be aware, being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart. After personally being an entrepreneur for over thirty years and successfully coaching hundreds of entrepreneurs and wanto-to-be entrepreneurs I have distilled down ten common qualities that YOU HAD BETTER POSSESS, or you need to find a stable job.

  1. Entrepreneurs love what they do. It will always be true that a person gets out of their business what they put into it. A lack of enthusiasm or commitment will easily reflect in your business’s success or failure. If you don’t find  EXTREME joy in what you’re doing, chances are you won’t be doing it long. The bottom line is an entrepreneur eats, breathes and lives what they do, and they do it 24/7.
  2. Successful entrepreneurs take what they do seriously. They believe in the products and services they sell. They see the “big picture” of how their good or service will change the world.
  3. They plan. No stone is left unturned. They know what they have to do and they find the discipline to get it done. They are organized and they delegate. They get a full sixty minutes out of each hour.
  4. They know how to manage their money. To them, it is always about a return. They don’t spend frivolously but they understand that you have to spend money to make money.
  5. They are not afraid to ask for business. Advertising and marketing are worthless unless you ask for the sale.
  6. They remember that it is always about the customer. Products and services exist for only one thing—the customer. Everything is customer-focused. They get the words “I”, “Me” and “My” out of their vocabulary. The conversation is always about “You,” “They” and “Them.”
  7. They maintain a professional business image at all times. They know that a first impression is a lasting impression. They maintain the attitude that every time a customer receives service, it’s administered like it’s the first time.
  8. They know their customers. This way, customers can receive personalized attention. Eighty percent of business is repeat business. Repeat business comes from knowing your customers and delivering a personalized experience.
  9. Entrepreneurs aren’t afraid of new technology. They build competent teams and surround themselves with the right advisers. They use business coaches, financial advisers, accountants and attorneys as the core of their team.
  10. They’re considered to be experts by their peers and customers. The nurture their expertise by reading, blogging and telling the world how their goods or services can help.

Being an entrepreneur is not an easy path to follow but it does offer a true path to financial freedom and purpose.
